About steve

Growing up, exercise and sport has always been part of my life. It was not always plain sailing, I was never the best at anything being a pretty average runner, rugby player, swimmer and boxer. I also struggled through my childhood and teen years with asthma which hindered my aerobic capacity. But what I really enjoyed was training, and pushing myself to the best of my abilities in whatever I did.

It is this ethos with training, that I like to convey to my clients. The feeling of pushing your own boundaries, whether that is hitting a new PB for a 5km run, or lifting a new max on the deadlift, is truly amazing.

Training and improving your body isn’t easy, and it can get pretty uncomfortable, but that is the fun of it.

After obtaining a BSc Hons in Sports Science at Liverpool John Moores University between 2007-2010, my love of training and wanting to help others with their own fitness goals brought me into the Personal Training industry in 2011.

From here, I’ve continued to educate and work on myself and my coaching techniques, working with a wide range of different people of differing ages and abilities, as well as completing several educational courses along the way.

I take a somewhat holistic approach to coaching. Ultimately you’ll only be in the gym with me for a few hours each week, yet what you do outside of the gym for the remaining hours in the day can make or break your progress. so keeping on top of nutrition, sleep and stress levels is my no.1 priority.
